How long have you been working for Enea?
From 2011 to 2012 I did a one-year intern-ship at Enea in maintenance and construction. After that I decided to start an apprenticeship as a landscape gardener, and thanks to the graduation exams I could do the shortened appren-ticeship. During this time I was able to gain exper- ience as a foreman and in maintenance. At the beginning of 2017, the opportunity arose to take on the position of Plant Buyer and Tree Scout.
What is your main task?
First, it’s tree scouting – I look for trees for the pro-jects and for the Enea tree nursery. I calculate costs of the plants for each project and then order the plants and trees.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most is active tree scouting, whe-ther all over Europe or here in our nursery in Jona. The different climates and altitudes, such as Sylt (an island in the North Sea), St. Moritz (in the Swiss mountains), Andalusia (in the south of Spain) or even in different cities like London and Moscow, make the work extremely exciting.
What inspires you?
I am especially inspired by the effect, the change and the feeling created by plants in an indoor or outdoor space. I am also inspired by architecture in general.
What do you do in your free time?
I enjoy sports, cooking and traveling—and of course I enjoy working in the garden.
